Lorien Y. Sites, M.D.Dr. Lorien Sites, a native of McMinnville, Tennessee, joined Nashville Skin and Cancer in July 2009. She enjoys all aspects of adult and pediatric dermatology including medical, surgical, and cosmetic services.
Dr. Sites earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Rhodes College where she graduated summa cum laude. She attended the University of Tennessee School of Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Medicine, summa cum laude. Dr. Sites completed her internship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, and then she moved to Nashville to complete her three-year dermatology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Sites has authored several articles in national peer-reviewed medical journals in dermatology. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Medical Association, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, Women's Dermatological Society, and several other local medical societies.
Dr. Sites is a proud mother of a daughter and son and enjoys spending time with her family
Adrian O. Rodriguez, M.D.Dr. Adrian O. Rodriguez joined Nashville Skin & Cancer in July 2007. His primary focus is in medical, and surgical dermatology including skin cancer, wound healing and management, inflammatory skin diseases, pediatric and adult medical dermatology. He also provides cosmetic services including sclerotherapy, chemical peels, dermal fillers and botox.
Dr. Rodriguez received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of California, San Diego in 1994. He pursued advanced training at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign joining the Medical Scholars Program with appointments in the Department of Biochemistry and College of Medicine. While there, he was a recipient of a National Cancer Institute Predoctoral Fellowship. He was the recipient of the Adolph O. Rostenberg Award in Dermatology from the University of Illinois, as well as the University of Illinois representative to the yearly National M.D./Ph.D. Conference. After receiving his M.D. in 2003, Dr. Rodriguez pursued his clinical training including an internship at Baptist Hospital in Nashville through the University of Tennessee Internal Medicine program followed by residency in dermatology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Rodriguez has authored several articles in national peer-reviewed medical journals in Biochemistry and Dermatology and presented at various national meetings. He is board certified and a Fellow of the American Board of Dermatology and an active member of the AAD, ASDS, AMA and other professional organizations.
Dr. Rodriguez is the proud father of two daughters and enjoys spending time with his family.
Sara M. Kantrow, M.D.Dr. Sara Kantrow, a native of Baton Rogue, LA, joined Nashville Skin and Cancer in July 2009. She specializes in medical dermatology, prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer and dermatopathology.
Dr. Kantrow received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University. She majored in molecular biology and graduated summa cum laude. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Kantrow completed her internship at Saint Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan. She returned to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and completed a three-year residency in dermatology. Dr. Kantrow was selected a Fellow in dermatopathology by the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, and received extensive training n melanocytic lesions, cutaneous malignancies, and inflammatory dermatoses. Prior to joining Nashville Skin and Cancer, Dr. Kantrow was a faculty member at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the Division of Dermatology.
Dr. Kantrow is a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. She has authored several articles in national peer-reviewed dermatology and dermatopathology journals and has presented at the national meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology as well as the American Society of Dermatopathology.
Brent E. Pennington, M.D.Dr. Brent Pennington, a native of Clarksville, Tennessee, founded Nashville Skin & Cancer in 2005. He specializes in the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Pennington received his Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry and mathematics from Vanderbilt University where he was awarded the Founder's Medal as the valedictorian of the university's College of Arts and Science. He then attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine and was elected by his peers into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Pennington completed his internship at Saint Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan. He returned to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for a three-year residency in dermatology. Following residency, Dr. Pennington completed a fellowship at Yale University in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology where he furthered his skills in the treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Pennington is a Fellow and board certified dermatologist by the American Board of Dermatology. He was elected into the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology in recognition of his extensive training in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer. He has authored several articles in national medical journals on dermatology and skin cancer. In addition, he has served as a presenter at the national meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Jason B. Robbins, M.D.Dr. Jason B. Robbins founded Nashville Skin & Cancer in 2005. He specializes in the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer as well as dermatopathology.
Dr. Robbins received his Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology and engineering science from Vanderbilt University. He was elected into the Tau Beta Phi honor society and was named the Vanderbilt University Scholar Athlete of the year award for his academic performance and contributions as a member of the Vandebilt Baseball Team. He then attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed a residency in Dermatology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Following residency, Dr. Robbins was selected as a Fellow in Dermatopathology at Stanford University where he received extensive training in the diagnosis of melanocytic lesions, inflammatory dermatoses, and cutaneous lymphomas.
Dr. Robbins is a board-certified dermatologist. He has authored several articles in national medical journals on dermatology and dermatopathology. In addition, he has presented at the national meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatopathology, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Krista Koleas, R.N.C., M.S.N.Krista Koleas, RN, APN, a native of Franklin, Tennessee, has been with Nashville Skin and Cancer since August of 2005. Krista earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Belmont University. She attended Vanderbilt University School of Nursing where she earned her Masters of Advanced Practice Nursing in Family Medicine. After 2.5 years of working as a registered nurse and under the supervision of Drs. Pennington and Robbins, Krista has increased her fund of knowledge in the specialty of Dermatology and now practices as Nashville Skin and Cancer's Nurse Practitioner seeing all aspects of general dermatology.
Krista is Board Certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is an active member of the Dermatology Nurses Association, the Nurse Practitioner Society of Dermatology Nurses Association, the Middle Tennessee Advanced Practice Nurses Association, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She enjoys volunteering at Siloam Family Health Center, spending time with her close friends and family, working in her garden, swimming, biking and running. She continues to love being a part of Nashville Skin and Cancer.
